It's time to set up your holiday streaming campaign

Are you ready to reach holiday shoppers on CTV? For many streamers, the season is already underway.

Last year, according to Roku internal data, holiday content searches on Roku saw an 86% increase during October. And in November, those searches rise an average of 39% weekly. This surging holiday spirit is mirrored by consumer activity, as about half of Roku streamers shopped Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals in 2025.

Meeting those shoppers is easier than you might think. Begin with the seasonal outcome you hope to drive: awareness, online sales, leads, store visits, or another measurable goal. From there, define your audience, upload your creative, set the budget and campaign dates, and establish measurement before launching. You can even create a shoppable ad unit that lets streamers buy with a click of their remote.

Our holiday playbook offers a month-by-month guide to reaching shoppers during this all-important time of year.

A Michigan Democrat Endorses the Republican in a Key Senate Race Days Before the Vote

Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens endorsed Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers on Sunday over her former primary rival Abdul El-Sayed less than 48 hours before Election Day. Stevens said in a video that El-Sayed had told her she was no longer welcome in his campaign. Her endorsement followed a surprise appearance with Rogers at a Detroit church.

The feud between the centrist Stevens and the progressive El-Sayed boiled over in recent days after she called on him to denounce an outside group's ad linking US support for Israel with high prices. Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer called the endorsement "a despicable betrayal." El-Sayed told reporters that voters do not think about Stevens.

Senators Press Meta on Whether Its Smart Glasses Feed Bystanders' Private Moments Into AI

What it is: Two senators are pressing Meta over whether its smart glasses protect people recorded without their consent. Sens. Ron Wyden of Oregon and Edward Markey of Massachusetts questioned the company's safeguards against nonconsensual recording in a letter. They say Meta's own disclosures confirm that imagery processed through the glasses' visual AI features may be kept and used to train AI systems with help from human reviewers.

The detail: An investigation last year found men recording massage parlor workers with Meta's Ray-Ban glasses and posting the videos to Instagram accounts with millions of views. A woman shown in one video was stalked at work by men who had watched it and bombarded with calls after her phone number appeared with the footage. Swedish journalists reported in March that data labeling workers in Kenya saw unredacted footage from the glasses that included sex and violence.

Why it matters: The senators argue that most bystanders never agreed to have their images used for AI development and that keeping the footage extends the time it can be misused. More than 70 people sued Meta alleging that workers labeling AI data had viewed their private photos and videos. Meta ended its contract with the Kenyan workers less than two months after the Swedish report.

What to watch: The senators want to know whether Meta weighed the glasses' potential to enable voyeurism and what imagery it uses to train AI. They also asked whether people can request deletion of biometric information and other data recorded through the glasses.
