Fox Closes Its $22 Billion Roku Deal After Justice Department Review
The Justice Department closed its antitrust investigation into Fox, clearing its $22 billion purchase of Roku, a streaming platform reaching over 100 million households. Regulators examined whether Fox could favor its own programming on Roku but concluded rival streaming platforms would likely keep the company from harming consumers.
Fox committed to keeping Roku's platform open to competing content providers for at least three years as part of the agreement, federal officials said. Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch said the combined company's top priority is serving audiences and partners while reinforcing the openness and choice he called Roku's essence.
Gen Z Voters Swing Nearly 50 Points Toward Democrats
Voters under 30 backed Democrats by nearly 50 points in Tuesday's midterms, according to exit polling, reversing ground the party lost with them in 2024. Gen Z made up just 11% of the total vote, as Americans ages 18 to 29 again turned out at lower rates than older voters.
Young voters may have mattered most on the margins of House and Senate races where Democrats flipped seats, according to the exit poll analysis. In Texas, Democrat James Talarico won his Senate race by 12 points overall, but his margin among Gen Z voters alone stretched to 60 points.
Kremlin Hopes Trump Keeps Pushing Ukraine Talks Despite Midterm Shake-Up
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov voiced hope that Trump will continue his peace efforts, even as some observers predict a Democratic-led Congress could boost Ukraine support. New trilateral talks among Russian, Ukrainian and U.S. representatives are planned for Tuesday and Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, which Peskov said build on existing groundwork.
Peskov also praised Melania Trump's humanitarian efforts after a limited ceasefire she helped broker around occupied Oleshky allowed aid deliveries and some evacuations. Asked whether the new Congress would challenge Trump's stance on Russia and Ukraine, Peskov brushed it off as an "internal matter" for Washington.

Airbnb's New House Rules: What Changes for Your Next Stay
What it is: Airbnb is redesigning its house rules for bookings made globally from November 20, letting hosts set seven standard rules plus other requests the company deems reasonable. Under the new policy, guests who pay a cleaning fee should not be asked to do jobs normally handled by a cleaner, such as dishes or stripping beds.
The detail: Hosts also cannot ask guests to take trash off site, and Airbnb said users had told it house rules can be confusing, onerous and hard to manage. One cleaning-company owner who paid a 35-pound cleaning fee on a recent stay said she was still asked to strip beds, run a wash and empty bins.
Why it matters: The change addresses travelers who pay a cleaning fee yet still face checkout chores, a mismatch that left that guest questioning what exactly she was paying for. Some hosts warn the shift adds stress, one cleaning company says its prices will likely rise, and one couple pulled their property off the platform entirely.
What to watch: The rules apply to bookings made from November 20, just ahead of Thanksgiving and the December holiday travel season, so anyone booking a stay should review the updated rules. Not every host objects, as one full-time manager said the update should improve the guest experience without changing how most people actually behave during their stays.
